About
Le Peristyle Sanctuary - Humofor has served as a hub of religious activity and ceremonies, and a center of spiritual healings and divination. It is a family-run Sanctuary run by mother and daughter – Gro Mambo (high Priestess) Yasezy Noványón Idizol and Gro Mambo (High Priestess) Fradási Noványón Idizol. Their Voodoo Sanctuary holds the power of the Noványón linage, with shrines of the Loas, and is the first erected under Le Peristyle Haitian Sanctuary in 2004, by the late Gro Mambo Angélá Noványón Idizol.
In the Voodoo religion, each Loa (Angel/Holy Spirit) has works and duties that are carried for the people. The answer to every problem that exists in this world is within the works and duties of the Loa under God. Each Loa governs a territory, has their own day, their own foods, their own drinks, spiritual works. As Mambos and Hungans (Priestesses/Priests), we look at the problems, and seek intersession on behalf of the people from the Loas that govern those territories, including family, love, business and finance and spirit problems.
Spiritual Works can range from a very simple cleansing to a more complex ceremony and bath. For centuries, African–based religions have successfully treated many physical and mental illnesses and brought upliftment to all areas of life
The Voodoo religion is a very systematic religion with specific rites, rituals, ceremonies and holidays observed throughout the year. The training of a priest (Hungan) or priestess (Mambo) covers many aspects including these healing services and ceremonies of thanksgiving giving honor to the Loa.
Gro Mambo Yasezy Noványón Idizol became initiated as Mambo Rinmin La Via Bel on September 18, 1994. She trained under the late Gro Mambo Angélá Noványón Idizol, studying Divination, Ethnobotany, Counseling and Conduct of Religious Ceremonies and Rituals. She was initiated as a Gro Mambo (High Priestess) on August 12, 2011, in Mariani, Haiti, at LePeristyle Haitian Sanctuary. Gro Mambo Yasezy traveled to Haiti to study Ethnobotany. She has studied the symbols and works of the Loa, incorporating the healing practices in her work for her clients.
Gro Mambo Yasezy has served on the Board of Directors at LePeristyle Haitian Sanctuary, and has served as the Associate Treasurer and Board Member for the National African Religion Congress/NARC World, a certifying board for African-based religions.
Gro Mambo Fradási Noványón Idizol was born in Rome, Italy and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of Central High School (class of 250), and Temple University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Cultural Anthropology. Gro Mambo Fradási was first initiated by Gro Mambo Angélá Noványón Idizol at LePeristyle Haitian Sanctuary in November 1991. After years of serving LePeristyle at the Hunsi level (first level initiation) Gro Mambo Angélá initiated her in Mariani, Haiti as a Gro Mambo (High Priestess) in August of 2014.
Like her mother, Gro Mambo Fradási trained under the late Gro Mambo Angela. Her studies included the preparation of the food and tables for the Loas, the laying of veves, shantis (prayers), conduct of ceremony, preparation and administering of spiritual baths, making of spiritual soaps and scrubs, spiritual botany, and Loa dances. She has also been trained in weddings, baby blessings and marriage counseling, and performs these services throughout the Tri-State area.
Together, Gro Mambo Yasezy and Gro Mambo Fradási have been serving the community since 2004 with over 35 years of combined experience.
